There’s a plethora of reasons why the midweek game against Bromley was huge for Leicester City. Not only did the Foxes keep a clean sheet, something which is particularly hard to come by at the moment.

But they won consecutive league games for the first time since November, and more importantly, it came in a decisive fashion. It was some of the best football we’ve seen in years, and at the heart of it were academy graduates Louis Page, Sammy Braybrooke and Will Alves.

Perhaps what’s even more impressive is that 127 miles northwest of the game in Bromley, another pair of academy graduates were starring in a big win. Jake Evans and Kirsten Otchere both scored in Cheltenham Town’s 4-2 win over Fleetwood. It’s only on nights like these that you can really reflect on the job done with the academy at Seagrave.
