Having been given a contract until the end of the season to hopefully keep Leicester City in the Championship, boss Gary Rowett is on the verge of failing to achieve his single objective.

But as the Foxes begin to prepare for life in League One, what will be the fate of our former defender?

The facts don't lie in that the club are perhaps one game away from a return to League One for only the second time in their history, and with a less points-per-game record than previous boss Marti Cifuentes (1.4ppg v 0.9ppg), albeit over a shorter time scale, is that the end of Rowett's journey?

There are a number of factors that don't always make it a straightforward, black and white case. and over the past four months, we've alluded to them on many occasions in our regular articles across the site or on our podcasts.
