A Dismal Weekend of Disastrous Results

Leicester City Women lost 5-1 to London City Lionesses on Sunday, and with West Ham United winning 1-0 against Liverpool, the Foxes look set to finish bottom of the WSL. There's no time to process that now though, as they travel to the Emirates to face Arsenal on Wednesday night.

Leicester City face a very tough trip to face Arsenal on Wednesday night, following a weekend of disastrous results for the Foxes’ survival hopes.

Manager Rick Passmoor called his side’s remaining four fixtures ‘cup finals’, whilst discussion on the latest episode of For Fox Sake – The Women’s Football Show suggested that Sunday would be make or break for Leicester.

And ‘break’ it was, as they were thumped 5-1 by London City Lionesses, whilst nearest relegation rivals West Ham United clinched a crucial 1-0 win over Liverpool.

That leaves Leicester rock-bottom of the WSL table, seven points from safety with a game in hand, and three left to play in total this season.
