Trips to Spain haven’t always been plain sailing for Leicester City squads in years gone by – think La Manga 2000, or 2004.
Nor have pre-season training camps in general – Dennis Wise vs Callum Davidson in Finland in 2002 comes to mind.
The early noughties were a bit spicy, weren’t they?
Thankfully, the biggest controversy to have come out of City’s Spanish adventure this year is a dodgy playing surface and a hasty relocation of a friendly. Very frustrating if you’d made travel plans to be there, but on the whole, fairly insignificant compared to the aforementioned controversies.
