It wasn't the result the Foxes wanted as newly-promoted Ipswich Town eventually ran out 3-1 winners in the Carabao Cup, but there were plenty of things to take from the game beyond simply looking at the scoreline.

The first positive was being well in the game on 70 minutes. This was always going to be a very different game to the ones we are seeing in League One as we predicted in our preview, with Russell Martin taking the opportunity to give a number of young players a chance to stake their claim for a Foxes evolution against Premier League opposition.

We asked before the game whether Leicester would be brave enough to give the youngsters a proper opportunity, and Martin certainly didn't hold back.
