The Foxes continued their concerning slide towards the relegation zone with a 2-0 loss at home to fellow relegation strugglers Charlton Athletic in the EFL Championship.

A disastrous red card inside 15 minutes for Caleb Okoli left the Foxes fearing the worst in interim boss Andy King’s first game in charge of the club. The London based side took full advantage with Sonny Carey poking the first beyond Jakub Stolarczyk, before the Addicks doubled their lead through a former Foxes target, Lyndon Dykes.

A first-half injury for Hamza Choudhury saw forgotten man Harry Winks return to the fold, with the former England midfielder impressing for Leicester. A golden opportunity for the Foxes to earn their way back into the game was squandered when Abdul Fatawu was brought down in the box. However, Jordan Ayew’s penalty hit the post and left the Foxes fans frustrated, having controlled the second half for the most part.
