It’s been a tough week for Leicester City Women.

Three defeats, 15 goals conceded, and the confirmation that they will finish bottom of the WSL and face a play-off to decide whether this tough season will end with survival or relegation.

Losing 3-1 to Chelsea in their final home game of the season on Sunday was a fairly respectable result, both on paper and on the pitch.

A Lauren James masterclass in the first half saw her score twice from outside the box, once from open play and once from a nonchalant free-kick which went in off the bar after Australian superstar Sam Kerr had opened the scoring.
