The Foxes endured another disappointing display to fall to a 3-1 defeat at Sheffield United on New Year’s Day in the EFL Championship, piling the pressure onto boss Marti Cifuentes. 

After the East Midlands derby win over Derby County, the beleaguered club's fans were hoping to see another 90 minutes of effort and desire, but instead got a turgid performance that asked more questions of where the Foxes are as a club.

A late consolation goal from Jordan James was the only positive after the hosts had dominated the game, as goals from Japhet Tanganga, former Leicester striker Tom Cannon and Callum O’Hare gave the flying Blades the points.
