A defeat is still a defeat, but the big story of the weekend saw the Foxes fall into the Championship relegation zone, whilst they were exiting the FA Cup in a 2-1 defeat to Southampton in the Fourth Round.
With the FA Cup run largely taking a back seat in terms of importance, the onus at Southampton's St Mary's was to banish from the minds the midweek capitulation against the Saints with a performance that may not have yielded a result but something to grasp our metaphorical hands around and move forward.
Despite going a goal down on the stroke of half-time, thanks to another needless tackle from Caleb Okoli that resulted in a penalty to the hosts that was duly converted, the Foxes hit back early in the second-half through a mesmerising bicycle-kick from the unlikeliest of sources in Oliver Skipp, taking the game into extra-time on the south coast.
Sadly, a second-half goal from James Bree settled the tie for the hosts, but For Fox Sake's Andy Moore takes a look at five things we learned from the defeat in a more positive oration compared to recent weeks.
