An 87th minute equaliser by Paulina Nystrom meant Leicester City Women drew 1-1 against Southampton in the Subway Players Cup on Sunday.

Southampton opened the scoring in the 68th minute through Libbi McInnes but Leicester pushed hard to gain the equaliser, converted by Nystrom from a Missy Goodwin cross.

Despite it being a league phase game, the rules of the competition meant the sides went on to face each other in a penalty shoutout, which Leicester won 4-3, claiming an additional point.

Here’s what we learned from the Foxes’ most recent outing.
