Striker Julian Carranza has returned to Dutch Eredivisie side Feyenoord after his loan spell at the Foxes ended, potentially freeing up a spot for former West Ham United striker Michail Antonio, who has been training with the club.
The Argentinian joined on deadline day on a season-long loan and went on to make nine appearances for the Foxes. He hadn't been used for over 10 games before missing out on a space in the squad in Thursday's defeat to Sheffield United.
His deal has been ended early amid rumours he will join Mexican side Necaxa on a four-year deal. Carranza has struggled to adapt to the physicality of playing in Europe, having spent the majority of his career so far in the MLS with both Philadelphia Union and Inter Miami.
The move to end the loan early could mean that 35-year old Antonio joins Leicester, having been training with the club over the last month, hoping to prove his fitness following a car crash in December 2024 that left him fighting to save his career.
