Leicester City have bolstered their squad with the permanent signing of experienced Newcastle United defender Jamaal Lascelles.
The East Midlands born centre-half makes the move to the Foxes on a free transfer from the Premier League side, looking to resurrect his career after an injury hit last couple of seasons in the North East.
Lascelles's experience could prove vital to a Foxes squad that looks bereft of leaders, with the former Nottingham Forest defender and Magpies club captain hoping to kickstart his recently stuttering career after an ACL injury in March 2024.
The need for defensive reinforcements was emphasised at the weekend with Jannik Vestergaard missing through injury, whilst Caleb Okoli will miss the next three games after being sent off at the weekend. With Harry Souttar also out long-term, the Foxes could be left with only one first-choice defender available in Ben Nelson, though young defender Olabade Aluko stepped in admirably.
