With the start of the WSL2 season just a fortnight away, Leicester City Women were in friendly action against Everton this week.

They welcomed the WSL side to Belvoir Drive on Wednesday afternoon, scoring twice for the second time in four pre-season friendlies.

Skipper Sam Tierney and exciting young talent, Denny Draper, were on target, making it one win, one draw and two defeats so far this summer, with five goals scored and seven conceded.

Whilst these are only friendlies, the numbers are relevant, given that City managed just 11 goals in 22 WSL matches last season, conceding 52, resulting in a goal difference of -41.
