Former Leicester City outside-right, Howard Riley, has passed away at the age of 87.

The Leicester-born star made over 200 appearances for the Foxes, having made his debut as a 17-year old against local rivals Nottingham Forest in 1955.

Riley came from a rich sporting family in the local area, with his brothers also on the books of the club, whilst both his father and grandfather played county cricket.

However, Riley's destiny was always football and he would spend a decade at the Foxes, playing under both Dave Halliday and Matt Gillies, and earning England Youth caps, whilst also representing the British Army.
