Leicester City’s first significant action in the January transfer window saw the departure of defender Wout Faes to Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.

The Belgian international made the move on an initial loan until the end of the season, with an option for the club to make it permanent in the summer.

Faes has been a polarising figure for the Foxes since his arrival from Stade Reims in 2022 as a direct replacement for Turkish centre-back Caglar Soyuncu, with pundits hailing the man nicknamed 'Sideshow Bob' (for obvious reasons) as a step-up for the Foxes.

For Fox Sake takes a look at Faes’s career at the King Power Stadium, and why he’ll likely be remembered as a figure that forever struggled to fit in with the Foxes fan base.
