Boycott Leader: "Hopefully The Message Got Through To Owners"

The atmosphere around the stadium at kick-off and the cheers when the home team was announced were subdued. The regular chorus of ‘When You're Smiling’ was sung with a low hum rather than the passionate tones that normally reverberate around the King Power Stadium.

Whilst reflections from some fans suggested that the bitter weather on the night was the cause of a mass number of fans not coming to the match, it’s hard to look past the success of the planned boycott by sections of the Foxes fanbase as being the main cause for the large swarms of empty seats throughout the stadium against WBA on Monday night.

For those involved in the organisation of the boycott, it would have been a bittersweet moment but they have their doubts as to whether the club will stand up and take notice. One of the organisers, who goes by the X Handle @KingPowerOut, is waiting to see whether there is positive reaction.

“I hope it got a message to the owners that enough is enough. It absolutely got to a point where it was needed and not really something we wanted to do, but this has been a long time coming for those higher ups.
