Franco Ravizzoli: "You can't find much better backup at League One level"

There have been nine new faces through the door at Leicester City Football Club so far, and perhaps the strangest incoming transfer of the summer so far, is that of Argentinian goalkeeper Franco Ravizzoli.

The 29-year-old’s three-year deal was announced on 10th August, just two days after the mutual termination of Fran Vieites’s contract. The Spaniard had failed to make a single competitive appearance for City during his one year with the club, operating as third-choice keeper behind Jakub Stolarczyk and Asmir Begovic.

Stolarczyk is still at the club, and the experienced Alex McCarthy joined earlier in the summer, meaning Ravizzoli is seemingly currently third choice.
