It didn't take long for Jayden Joseph to catch the eye during Leicester City's pre-season campaign.
The academy graduate produced one of the standout performances of the Foxes' friendly against Serie A side Genoa, displaying the confidence, energy and attacking intent that supporters have been desperate to see. It was enough for many Leicester fans to begin asking whether the 19-year-old has done enough to earn the starting right-back berth ahead of the new League One season.
Pre-season performances can often flatter to deceive, but Joseph's display looked like that of a player who has returned from senior football with greater confidence and maturity. Having spent last season on loan at Tranmere Rovers in League Two, Leicester supporters have been keen to discover exactly how he fared and whether his performances suggest he is ready to make the step up at his parent club.
