Back in November, we got to hear from Leicester City’s owner and Chairman Khun Top after a prolonged period of silence, something that was clearly needed, delivered somewhat reluctantly and has since seen yet more silence.

It marked the day that there was at least an element of acceptance that the Foxes had lost their way, and though there was little substance in the club's interview with Khun Top, there was the acknowledgment that a different direction was needed behind the scenes at the club.

For many, the interview didn’t go far enough, with Director of Football Jon Rudkin now known to be staying at the club but moving onto a different position, much to the despair of Foxes fans. Whilst that is significant enough (and something we’ll no doubt tackle soon) the biggest takeaway was that the Chairman would be leading the search for a new Technical Director, a role that would sit inside the football operations side of the business.

So we take a look at the Technical Director’s role, asking what the role all about and what we can expect from the person appointed.
