In retrospect, Leicester City’s season was doomed from the beginning.
In what was a huge transitional year for the WSL, with the league expanding from 12 to 14 teams for the subsequent cycle, the Foxes faltered in their quest to avoid relegation and be a part of such a historical change.
Bottom of the league, just nine points earned, only 11 goals scored in 22 games, and a relegation play-off loss on penalties. I will do my best to find the positives…
